Economics

The Master’s degree program in Economics is a comprehensive scientific yet applied program, which prepares students for interesting jobs in economic policy institutions, private-sector companies, and public administration offices, or a career in academia, central banks, and research institutes in Austria and abroad.

 

Program Information:

In the Master's degree program in Economics (4 semesters, 120 ECTS), students are offered an advanced training in economic theory and empirical methods. The program is fitted for students targeting jobs in national and international institutions responsible for the conduct of economic policy and research. The program also provides an excellent preparation for a career in business and public administration as well as in academia or private research institutions.

Students receive a comprehensive education in modern methods of economic theory and econometrics. Students can follow their interest and specialize in various fields, such as industrial economics, international trade, labor economics, macroeconomics, or public finance. All courses are offered in English (Level B2).

Students with a Bachelor's degree in Economics can, in accordance with their desired career goals, broaden their perspective by choosing courses in Management. Master students who have not completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics can fill potential gaps in their knowledge of economic theory and econometrics by attending courses from the module "Principles in Economics and Management."
