Course (KS) and intensifying course (IK) Treatment Evaluation (former name: Econometrics II) are intended for students with an interest in econometric methods for the analysis and evaluation of (public) policies. The methods taught will enable students to critically assess empirical research and to undertake their own empirical projects. The course examines selected econometric models and discusses in detail specification, identification, and estimation techniques. Covered topics include the Rubin causal model, randomized control trials, natural experiments, difference-in-differences estimators, instrumental variable approaches and regression discontinuity designs. The course (KS) focuses on theory and methods, the intensifying course (IK) on applications and working with data. More information: Organization. Course material at JKU KUSSS.
