The JKU Faculty of Medicine is synonymous with outstanding performance in education, research, and patient care. Working alongside the Kepler University Hospital, the Linz MED Campus is a center for cutting-edge medicine and healthcare in Upper Austria.
The JKU is Austria's first university to introduce a Bachelor's/Master's academic degree program in human medicine based on established Bologna criteria. The Medical University of Graz (MUG), a well-established Austrian medical university with extensive expertise in preclinical medicine, has partnered with the JKU to jointly offer the Bachelor's degree program in human medicine.
A new generation of physicians will benefit from state-of-the-art education in medicine, ranging from the world's most modern virtual anatomy lecture hall inside of the JKU medSPACE, to real-world, hands-on education in bedside manner.
The new education and research building at the heart of the Faculty of Medicine opened its doors in 2021, positively impacting the entire surrounding hospital district. Opened in 2022, the JKU medLOFT serves as an impressive event center ideally suited to support professional networking and a variety of other medical events.
