CASC 2020

The international conference on Computer Algebra and Scientific Computing 2020 took place from September 14th to September 18th.

We were very pleased to host CASC 2020 in Linz, even though the ongoing crisis only allowed the conference to virtually take place here. With more than a hundred registered participants attending the online event from all around the world, CASC 2020 was one of the largest editions in the history of this conference. The scientific program consisted of two invited talks, by Werner Seiler and Ovidiu Radulescu, and almost 50 contributed talks on various aspects of computer algebra and scientific computing. The local organization team consisting of Veronika Pillwein (RISC, DK), Georg Regensburger (Algebra), Clemens Raab (Algebra), and Manuel Kauers (Algebra) not only provided the technical infrastructure for holding the conference remotely, but also managed to organize a virtual excursion to the Ars Electronia Center, which many of the conference participants greatly enjoyed. The next edition of CASC is planned to be held in Sotchi, Russia, next year.
