Joint ANR-FWF project granted

The Austrian Science Fund FWF and the French Funding Agency ANR have accepted a proposal for a joint project on Efficient Algorithms for Guessing, Inequalities, and Summation.

The project will be led by Manuel Kauers in Austria and Alin Bostanin France. Further project participants are Veronika Pillwein (RISC), Carsten Schneider (RISC), and Christoph Koutschan (RICAM) in Austria and Frederic Chyzak (Inria), Mohab Safey El Din (Sorbonne), Jeremy Berthomieu (Sorbonne), and Vincent Neiger (Sorbonne) in France. Together with four Ph.D. students financed by the grant, this team will continue the important development of computer algebra algorithms that are needed for solving problems arising in combinatorics, experimental mathematics, and mathematical physics.
