A publication entitled "Controlled Signaling and Transmitter Replenishment for MC with Functionalized Nanoparticles" received the Best Paper Award at this year's International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication. The institute members Franz Enzenhofer and Werner Haselmayr provided a significant contribution to this work.

This work presents a first theoretical model for the release and replenishment of molecules in nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are an important component of synthetic molecular communication systems, which may help to enable transformative applications in nanomedicine, such as targeted drug delivery. Theoretical modeling of molecular communication systems is an important step for their development and optimization. Thus, this work provides a valuable contribution to achieve this goal.
