Dr. Florian Koehne

Florian Koehne is a research fellow at the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. He received a PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where he also completed a master's degree in International Business and Emerging Markets with distinction. He has been an external research partner (pro bono) of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador and developed his research as a visiting scholar at the McMaster University in Canada and the Mondragon University in Spain. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the areas of international business development and marketing for the Symrise AG in Germany and Mexico.

The interdisciplinary research of Florian Koehne focuses on social entrepreneurship and hybrid enterprise governance in a transnational context. In a current internationally funded research project, Florian explores the work of indigenous community enterprises in South America and the emergence of social innovation clusters in rural areas. He regularly presents his research at international conferences such as the Academy of Management Meeting and the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS). His work has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing.
