High level of media interest

on IHaM analyses of consumer behaviour in the extraordinary (pre-)Christmas period 2021.

In the last few weeks, the analyses of the Institute for Retailing, Sales and Marketing (IHaM) have been taken up by many media. Prof. Dr. Christoph Teller (Institute Director) and Dr. Ernst Gittenberger (Head of the Centre of Retail and Consumer Research) have given numerous interviews (ORF heute, Volksblatt, Kurier, Kleine Zeitung, Kronen Zeitung, Der Standard, OÖN, etc.).


A main focus was put on the one-time Sunday opening. According to the study, only half of the respondents are in favour of this Sunday opening. The opinion is split. "However, this is a symbolic image. Every open shop represents a counterpoint to online retail. As we know, the latter is open every Sunday."
