Keynote at the NÖ-Retail Day 2023

[Translate to Englisch:] NÖ

"Everything e-commerce?!" at this year's Retail Day of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce with a keynote address by Dr. Ernst Gittenberger from the Institute for Retailing, Sales and Marketing.

The Covid 19 pandemic and the inflation crisis have had a massive impact on the shopping behaviour of Lower Austrians - this is especially true for purchases via the internet. While the number of online shoppers in Lower Austria in 2022 has remained constantly high, online spending is falling for the first time. The trend has returned to brick-and-mortar shops during the inflation crisis.

In the future, the boundaries between online and offline will blur even more along the customer journey. Multi-channeling will become the dominant shopping behaviour and click & collect will become increasingly important. For the coming years, further online growth can be expected in Lower Austria, although the high growth dynamics of the Covid 19 pandemic years are over for now, according to Dr. Ernst Gittenberger in his key note at this year's Lower Austrian Retail Day.

The presentation and video of the keynote as well as all other presentations and information on the five thematic blocks Platforms, Content & Data, Shipping Management & Parcel Logistics, Shop 2.0 - digital meets stationary as well as Visibility through Social Media at the Lower Austrian Retail Day can be found under Download & Links.
