Nikolaos Giannakaris received the best poster presentation award for the poster entitled
“Chemical Imaging and analysis by Femtosecond LIBS with micrometer spatial resolution”

Nikolaos Giannakaris received the best poster presentation award for the poster entitled “Chemical Imaging and analysis by Femtosecond LIBS with micrometer spatial resolution” that he presented at the 11th international conference on “Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy” LIBS 2020 (20-25 September 2020, Kyoto / Japan / Web conference). LIBS technique is especially interesting since it enables in-situ spatially resolved chemical analysis to obtain “chemical images” of a sample. On the poster, he reported on the research and development of fs-LIBS for chemical imaging with spatial resolution close to 1 μm and masses in the femtogram range. This research is part of the FFG K project PSSP and is conducted at the JKU Institute of Applied Physics (A.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Johannes D. Pedarnig). The consortium leader of the FFG PSSP project is Recendt GmbH, Linz.
