Awards

An award, the "Medal", opens an external URL in a new window, will be given to a young scientist for exceptional contributions to the field of surface science spectroscopy.

Further prizes will be awarded for best poster and oral contributions.

Student Support Program

As part of the AKE's efforts to promote a European network of ellipsometry, financial assistance to attend the Surface Science Symposium (SSS-4) is available to students from European countries. Students (Masters, PhD) from the countries listed below are eligible to apply for one of five bursaries of Euro 300 each to contribute to the costs of attending the SSS-4. The bursary will be paid by bank transfer.
In addition to an oral/poster abstract, the applicant is required to submit a short text (max. 300 words) describing their research activities and explaining why attendance at the SSS-4 would be beneficial to their research.

The deadline for application for support - together with application for an oral or poster contribution - is the May 15, 2021  extended to June 30, 2021.
