REVIEW: Guest lecture "Controller*innen in der Praxis"

Mrs. Mag. Ulrike Steiner,  Schulmeister Management Consulting Linz GmbH

In the context of the LVA KS Fundamentals of Operational Controlling, Ms. Steiner (Schulmeister Management Consulting Linz GmbH) gave interesting insights into the job market in the field of controlling on 14.01.2022. In addition to the changes due to the Corona pandemic, the effects due to digitalization were discussed in this context. In particular, the introduction of BI systems is currently attributed great importance in corporate practice. However, newcomers to the profession are not expected to already have experience in the use of these tools, they only have to show the willingness to deal with the new programs as part of the introduction process.

In addition, Ms. Steiner gave the students a general understanding of the requirements for controllers using practical examples. She explained in detail how best to prepare for starting a career and that it is important to be clear about one's own goals. The personal fit to the company should also not be disregarded. Ms. Steiner also discussed her company's role as a personnel consultant and recruiter. Although the guest lecture had to take place online due to the COVID19 situation, a lively discussion took place afterwards.
