Since 2008, the Award of Excellence, which is an educational state fund award accompanied with EUR 3,000 in prize money, has honoured the 40 best dissertations of the past academic year. The proposals for this award come from the universities. The awards are presented at a ceremony in December each year.

The Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich honours students and scientists of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Up to 4 works from faculties with bank, money or credit specific significance are awarded. Dissertations and Ph.D. theses receive EUR 3,000, other scientific papers EUR 2,000.

The "Prize for the Promotion of Dialogue between Business, Ethics and Religion" is an initiative of the Federation of Austrian Industry (Federation of Austrian Industries, Upper Austria) and is awarded every two years in cooperation with the Catholic Private University of Linz. The prize is endowed with EUR 7,500. The award is decided by a board of trustees consisting of persons from science, business and churches.

The associations "ReTurn Forum for Restrukturierung und Turnaround" and "Interessengemeinschaft Sanierungsrecht" are offering the Austrian Prize for Restructuring Management and Insolvency Law amounting to EUR 5,000 for outstanding scientific work in the field of restructuring and reorganisation management (consulting).

Since 2000, REHAU has been honoring particularly good economic papers with reference to or transfer potential to international industrial companies. The goal of the family-owned company is to reward outstanding work and to stimulate further scientific findings. It also aims to support the connection of theory and practice.

The Rudolf-Sallinger-Prize is a science and business prize awarded annually by the Rudolf Sallinger Fund for the promotion of university research and young scientists. The fund, established in 1979 by Rudolf Sallinger, former ÖVP politician and President of the Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, awards prize money of between 1,000 and 3,000 euros.

The Walther-Kastner-Prize is considered the most important award in the field of banking and corporate law. The prize is awarded by the Association of Austrian Banks and Bankers for outstanding academic papers which are suitable for promoting Austrian banking - especially in the fields of corporate law, tax law and economics.
