Since 2008, the Award of Excellence, which is an educational state fund award accompanied with EUR 3,000 in prize money, has honoured the 40 best dissertations of the past academic year. The proposals for this award come from the universities. The awards are presented at a ceremony in December each year.

The Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich announces the Ludwig Scharinger Prize to support students of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. A total of 5 prizes are awarded. Papers from all three faculties which have a bank, money or credit specific significance can be submitted. Dissertations will be awarded EUR 3,000 and diploma theses EUR 2,000.

The "Prize for the Promotion of Dialogue between Business, Ethics and Religion" is an initiative of the Federation of Austrian Industry (Federation of Austrian Industries, Upper Austria) and is awarded every two years in cooperation with the Catholic Private University of Linz. The prize is endowed with EUR 7,500. The award is decided by a board of trustees consisting of persons from science, business and churches.

Since 1996, the Erwin-Wenzl-Prize has honoured extraordinary achievements by young Upper Austrians. The achievements of students, pupils and apprenticeship graduates are equally valued and are awarded together.

They are awarded for papers which are suitable for promoting an understanding of the foundations, nature and functioning of democracy, of the peaceful coexistence of nations, of the tradition and mission of the Christian workers' movement or of the cooperation and reconciliation of interests between social partners.

The goal of the family-owned company is to reward outstanding work and to stimulate further scientific findings. It also aims to support the connection of theory and practice.

The Rudolf-Sallinger-Prize is a science and business prize awarded annually by the Rudolf Sallinger Fund for the promotion of university research and young scientists. The fund, established in 1979 by Rudolf Sallinger, former ÖVP politician and President of the Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, awards prize money of between 1,000 and 3,000 euros.
