Curriculum Vitae

Sophie N. Parragh received her PhD from the University of Vienna in 2009 and she completed her habilitation in 2016. She worked as a visiting researcher at the CIRRELT, Montreal and as a postdoc fellow at the IBM Center for Advanced Studies in Porto. She won a Hertha Firnberg Postdoc Fellowship (funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF)) at the University of Vienna, she was visiting professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien), and she has been involved in several applied and fundamental research projects in OR in health care, field staff routing and scheduling, and multi-objective combinatorial optimization (both as project leader and project collaborator). In March 2017 she was appointed full professor at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. She serves as associate editor at INFORMS Journal on Computing and she is part of the editorial board of OR Spectrum. Furthermore, she is a regular reviewer for international journals such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research B, European Journal of Operational Research or Computers & Operations Research. In her research she works on the development of optimization algorithms for decision support in operations management and logistics.
