Master's Degree in Economic and Business Analytics (EBA)

The Master's degree program "Economic and Business Analytics" can show you how to keep track of large amounts of data, interpret data, make it profitable for companies and benefit society, and how to make business decisions based on the data.

We offer the follwoing courses as part of the Master's degree program Economics and Business Analytics:

Principles in Analytic Methods

  • Operations Research (6 ECTS credits - 2 courses 4 ECTS credits (KS) and 2 ECTS credits (IK)): Optimize distribution networks, simulate business processes, improve resource utilization. Competitive companies make plans and decisions based on quantitative models and methods. During the course, you will learn how to master the required tools and methods. (Offered every Winter Semester)

Elective Analytic Methods

  • Programming for Business Tasks (6 ECTS credits): Discover the easy to learn the programming language, Julia, opens an external URL in a new window, created at MIT for Data Scientists and Business Analysts. (Starting Spring 2021)
  • Computational Logistics: Opimization (6 ECTS credits): Use OPL/CPLEX to model optimization problems arising in logistics and learn about advanced exact solution approaches. Use what you have learned to model and solve a logistics problem in the form of a small project. (Offered every Winter Semester)
  • Computational Logistics: Metaheurisitcs (6 ECTS credits): Metaheuristics are powerful algorithms successfully used in transportation planning, production scheduling, timetabeling etc., to produce high quality solutions toaddress complex problems in very short computation times. Nowadays, they are a core element in many software products. As part of a small project, you will learn how they work and can test your own ideas. Basic programming skills are required! (Offered every Summer Semester)

Elective Digital Economy and Supply Chain Management

  • KS Operations and SCM (3 ECTS) and IK Operations and SCM (3 ECTS) Students are familiar with problems, models, concepts and methods of operations and supply chain management. They are able to formulate strategic, tactical and operational supply chain planning problems in a structured way and they are able to apply appropriate approaches to solve them.
  • Advanced Topics in Production, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (3 ECTS) Students have an in-depth knowledge of selected advanced topics in production, logistics and supply chain management. They are able to describe planning problems using appropriate models and they are able to select and apply appropriate concepts and (solution) approaches. This course is offered on changing topics and can be selected mutiple times (on different topics).
  • Decision Support in Production, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (3 ECTS) Students have competent knowledge of current scientific literature in selected topics of on production and logistics. They can summarize and present scientific literature. They have basic knowledge of selected software systems, modeling language and solution techniques for decision support in production, logistics and supply chain management. This course is offered on changing topics and can be selected multiple times (on different topics)
