The institute of Roman law is seen as an intermediary between antique and modern law.

By studying Roman law students should be prepared to understand civil law. Furthermore methods of Roman lawyers should help to figure out legal thinking. The subject "Romanistische Grundlagen der europäischen Zivilrechtsdogmatik" is obligatory in the first part of your study of juristprudence.

Moreover serveral seminars and courses are offered for your major field of study and your doctorate. Diploma thesis and dissertation are also serviced.
