Dr. Péter Kovács

Curriculum Vitae

Péter Kovács was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1986. From 2005 till 2010 he studied at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest where he obtained his Master degree in Computer Science with distinction in 2010. He then started his Ph.D. work on transformation methods in signal processing at the Eötvös Loránd University. The topics of the thesis cover optimization, biomedical signal modeling and the construction of the corresponding numerical methods. During his Ph.D. studies, he spent five months as a visiting researcher at the Department of Signal Processing of the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) Finland. In 2012, he began his academic career as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Numerical Analysis of the Eötvös Loránd University of Hungary. After earning his Ph.D. degree in 2016, he was promoted to assistant professor. Since March 2018 he is Postdoc at the Institute of Signal Processing of the Johannes Kepler University Linz.

His current research interests are related to adaptive signal representations, sparse estimation of ECG signals, optimization, analysis and implementation of numerical algorithms.
