Support services for refugee students enrolled in a university preparation program.

The MOREclassic program is for refugees who have been admitted to a degree program at the JKU but must take and pass required supplementary examinations (German, Mathematics, History) as part of a university preparation program.

Taking part in the MOREclassic program means:

  • Receiving a scholarship to pay for tuition fees
  • Reducing the course fees in the university preparation program by 5% (asylum-seekers, those with subsidiary protection status) and or 15% (those with asylum status)
  • Travel allowance
  • Regularly scheduled information meetings and get-togethers to meet people and exchange information

Who is eligible to apply for the MORE classic program?

  • ​​​​​​You are seeking asylum and hold a residence permit card in accordance with § 51 AsylG, entitled to asylum; subsidiary protection in accordance with § 52 AsylG; tolerated according to § 46a FPG or other residence permit in accordance with the AsylG or FPG and
  • you are already enrolled at the JKU or hold a valid letter of admission and would like to start studying and
  • you have been asked to pass one or more supplementary examinations as part of a pre-study program

If all of this and more applies to you, then you are eligible to apply to the MOREclassic program.

How can I apply to the MOREclassic program?

  • you can submit your application for the academic year 2021/22 between 14.06. and 30.07.2021
  • you can download the application form from our homepage
  • you should send your application with all necessary documents to by 30.07.2021
  • you will be invited to an interview at JKU Linz in July

What documents are required?

  • completed and signed application form
  • letter of motivation (at least ½ A4 page)
  • copy of your Kepler card (if available)
  • residence card
  • most recent German language certificate
  • positive letter of admission from the JKU
