The Ombuds Office for Students is part of the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs.
The office is independent and available to all JKU students. All matters are dealt with confidentiality.
The Ombuds Office for Students at the JKU Linz is a specific instance when it comes to conflict situations in the area of education & studies and problems cannot be solved to the satisfactory of the main responsible offices (course management, institute management, degree program management, Austrian Student Union representation, Austrian Student Union departments, the Office of Teaching and Studies Organization, etc.).
The Ombuds Office for Students provides information and advice relating to the legal framework in relation to the individual problem.
The Ombuds Office for Students can contact those responsible on-site and work together with the students to find a solution.
The ombudsman's office can provide mediation services to address issues that cannot be settled directly by the institutions.
Contact the Ombuds Office for Students only after conventional resolution and mediation channels have failed.
Contact us either by sending an e-mail, calling our office, or talking with us person (plese make an appointment in advance).
If you would like for us to represent your problem or concern, please send an e-mail to: email@example.com outlining the problem in as much detail as possible. Only then will the Ombuds Office for Students be able to take action in the matter and provide the best advice and assistance we can.

The designated ombudsperson will contact those responsible to address the issue and work together to find solutions.
