In subscription journals that have an OA publishing option (= hybrid) and Gold Open Access Journals.

What types of articles will be accepted?
Paper, Special issue paper/article, Review, Letter, Note, Perspective, Short Communication, Viewpoint, Topical review, Topical issue article, Comment, Corrigendum, Addendum.

Which licenses are available?
CC-BY 4.0

Which authors will be accepted?
Corresponding authors who are affiliated with JKU at the time of acceptance.

How are the authors identified?
By indicating the name of the institution (JKU).

Are FWF articles covered?
Yes, up until the end of 2025.

Are there any costs or fees for authors?
No. There are no fees for Open Access in hybrid or Gold Open Access OUP Journals.

What is the process for authors?
During the review process, eligible authors will be identified by IOP and informed about the automatic OA of their article. If the article is not to be published OA (in hybrid journals), an active opt-out from the authors is required within 5 days.

Note: Page charges for publications in the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics and Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific are not covered by this agreement.
