OA Publishing in Elsevier Subscription Journals
In which content can OA articles be published?
In subscription journals that have an OA publishing option (= hybrid). Excludes Lancet and Cell press titles.
What types of articles will be accepted?
Case reports, data, full length articles, microarticles, original software publications, practice guidelines, protocols, review articles, replication studies, short communications, short surveys, video articles
Which licenses are available?
CC-BY 4.0, CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0
Which authors will be accepted?
Corresponding authors employed at the JKU at the time of submission.
How are the authors identified?
By entering the institution (JKU).
Are there any costs or fees for authors?
No. There are no costs or fees for Open Access publishing in Elsevier subscription journals.
What is the process for authors?
After being accepted, eligible authors can view the author dashboard to select whether or not they would like to publish Open Access. If OA is selected, the library or the Austrian Science Fund (if funding is available) will receive the application and confirm it.
Please note: The date of submission is pivotal for this agreement! Articles submitted after January 1, 2020 are eligible.
There is a 15% discount to publish in journals that are entirely open access. You are eligible to apply for funding out of the Publication Fund.
