The Johannes Kepler University Linz and Ars Electronica are bound together by a common ambition to sustainably strengthen ways to bring art and science together, seek an open transfer of knowledge with society, and promote a concept of technology that focuses on people. In keeping with these efforts, the JKU and Ars Electronica have come together to collaborate on various projects.


For over 40 years, the Festival has not only brought scientists and students together in Linz, but also leading figures from the world of technology, and artists and activists from all over the world. The city becomes a showcase for art, technology and society and has an international flair. The renowned Ars Electronica Festival has taken place at the JKU campus 2020 - 2022.
