Since the financial crisis of 2008, a specter has once again been haunting Europe and Karl Marx has become current again.
To mark his 200th birthday, a lecture series at the “Wissensturm” in Linz will focus on works by Karl Marx and the significance of those works today. Organized by the Institute of Sociology (JKU), the lecture series will provide insight into the phenomenon of Karl Marx. Since the financial crisis of 2008, his works are once again being read with interest. The organizers added that when it comes to global capitalism, the uncontrollability of capitalistic production in social and ecological terms is only one of a few contradictions Marx pointed out.
