Budding Researchers: Awards in the Young Scientists Program

Workshops organized by the JKU as part of the “Young Scientists” program give school-age students an opportunity to see what studying at the JKU would be like. Over 100 budding researchers took part in last year’s program.

Participants in last year’s "Young Scientists" program received certificates and high praise for their outstanding achievements. The JKU’s Young Scientists program gave school-age teens a unique opportunity to take part in workshops focusing on different scientific areas such as computer sciences, electronics &  information technology, mathematics, mechatronics, physics, chemistry, and polymer engineering. Under the expert guidance of JKU faculty members, the students worked on special projects in that particular scientific field. At the end of the program, a ceremony was held to present each student with a special certificate. Students also had the opportunity to personally meet with representatives from various companies and industry as well as JKU faculty members and state government representatives.
