ANSOLE is a project close to Dr. Egbe’s (Institute of Polymeric Materials and Testing, JKU) heart. Less than 40% of those living in sub-Saharan Africa have access to electricity and Dr. Egbe aims to change that. ANSOLE provides support to educate young people in Africa, helping locals in the region to address and tackle the problem themselves. A number of projects and exchange programs have yielded successful and fruitful results.

Following a presentation in the state capital of Thüringen (Germany) on December 29, Dr. Egbe was then presented with the “2018 Africa Recognition Award”.

The award winner had, however, unfortunately missed his own award presentation. Dr. Egbe grinned and remarked, “It was supposed to be a surprise. But I had to catch my flight so I left right after my presentation. However, I picked up my award later on January 14, 2019.”
