The ASE (Automated Software Engineering Conference) is one of the three most important conferences in the field of software engineering, strongly influencing the entire area of research in this field. In this regard, it is truly an honor just to be nominated. Prof. Paul Grünbacher (Institute of Software Systems Engineering at the JKU) is only the 16th scientist to be presented with the “Fellow” title during the ASE’s 30-year history. Prof. Alexander Egyed, head of the department, offered his congratulations and remarked: "The JKU can be proud of being awarded a title of this caliber. It confirms that our university is one of the top educational institutions in the world, especially in the area of software engineering."

Presented by the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering’s steering committee (ranked at the highest A* level in the prominent CORE ranking), the title is given to individuals who have continually contributed significantly to the ASE Conference, the ASE Journal, and the ASE Research Community by means of their academic/scientific accomplishments and service. Paul Grünbacher conducts research in the areas of software product lines, software evolution, requirements engineering, and software monitoring.
