This year’s conference will focus on financial and accounting issues in Emerging Markets. Presentations will show clear differences in emerging markets that conduct strong scientific research in developed countries. Topics include different cultural influences on financial and accounting issues, the role of the family as the owner of a business, and CSR aspects in emerging markets.

This year’s keynote speaker is considered nothing less than a celebrity among Austrian finance experts: Dr. Herbert Stepic, former CEO of Raiffeisen International, 2006 European Banker of the Year, 2007 European Manager of the Year, and currently the Chairman of the H. Stepic CEE Foundation, will hold a keynote speech titled "Business - Why Emerging Markets?" about his many years of professional experience.

The 2018 EMFAIC will be organized by the Institute of Corporate Finance, Department of Corporate Finance (Department Head: Univ. Prof. Helmut Pernsteiner) together with representatives from partner universities in Istanbul and Lublin.
