€3 Million in Funding for Basic Research in Energy in Upper Austria

“OÖ. Energieforschungsprogramm 2018” awarded funding to eight projects at ten research facilities.

Deputy Governor Dr. Michael Strugl praised the projects, several of which the JKU are involved with: "The participants are showing that we are conducting high quality, innovative and future-oriented research in Upper Austria."

Creating new, nature-inspired electro-catalysts containing CO2 carbohydrates, such as synthesizing glucose

JKU Linz: Enzymatic Bio-Electro Analysis to Reduce CO2
Enzymatic bio electro-chemistry as a possible alternative to energy storage

Energy Institute at the JKU Linz and Kompetenzzentrum Holz Ltd: BioReduce
Produce native lignin (out of wood, straw, ...) as a substitute for aromatic compounds in the chemical industry that are currently extracted from crude oil

Broadband impedance measurement method for the qualitative and quantitative determination of batteries
