While at some point the Covid-19 pandemic will be history, the topic of working from home will remain a point of contention for many companies and businesses. A brand-new, useful handbook titled "Home Office" has been published by the JKU Institute for Labour Law and Social Law on this current topic, explaining the legal parameters under labor law and providing an in-depth academic analysis. The book focuses in-depth on the new legal provisions of the 2021 Working from Home Package of Measures 2021 and reviews these measures in terms of efficiency in regard to the systematic context in the old body of law. The book also addresses what special features - based on fundamental rights – that working from home has compared to the company employment relationship as well as what is applicable in matters that remain fairly unaffected by the new law.

For Both Laymen and Experts
Prof. Elias Felten explained: "We attempted a balancing act to address both the ‘experts’ and the ‘laymen’." This means, for example, the end of each chapter includes a compact summary of key statements and the text includes practical, color-coded tips and examples. Prof. Felten hopes the book provides legal experts, employers, and employees alike with sound information in regard to working from home and added: "In essence, we aim to present the topic in a way that is both academically sound yet comprehensible to those in the field."
