Gramse, JKU Institute for Biophysics, earned his authorization to teach in the subject area of "Experimental Physics".

Those pursuing a habilitation/post-doc undergo an academic evaluation in regard to special qualifications that proves their ability to independently conduct academic/scientific research and teach the entire depth and breadth of their selected subject area [facultas docendi], This, in turn, is the prerequisite to grant authorization to teach that particular subject area [venia legendi].

About Georg Gramse

Priv. Doz. Dr. Georg Gramse is a research associate at Keysight Technologies and group leader of the Nanoelectronics Group at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. After studying physics at the Freie Universität Berlin and nanotechnology at the University of Barcelona (Spain), he earned his PhD in nanoscience at the University of Barcelona and IBEC. He has extensive expertise in nanoscale electrical metrology based on scanning probe microscopy and other characterization techniques and has developed new electrical measurement techniques and methods, thereby addressing and solving open research questions in areas that include biophysics, electrochemistry, materials science and semiconductor physics. His work has been published in renowned journals such as Science and Nature. His special focus on electrical broadband and high-speed measurements on a nanoscale is combined with developing accurate and numerical quantification methods based on finite element models. Georg Gramse is actively involved in many collaboration efforts with universities, industrial partners (IBM, Infineon, AMS), and metrological institutions (NPL, NIST, METAS).
