Thomas Aigner Receives Venia Legendi/Habilitation Certificate

Vice-Rector Christopher Lindinger presented legal expert Thomas Aigner with his venia legend/habilitation certificate.

Thomas Aigner (Department of Multi-Media Civil Law at the JKU) received his teaching authorization in the subject area of "Civil Law".

Those pursuing a habilitation/post-doc undergo an academic evaluation in regard to special qualifications that proves their ability to independently conduct academic/scientific research and teach the entire depth and breadth of their selected subject area [facultas docendi], This, in turn, is the prerequisite to grant authorization to teach that particular subject area [venia legendi].

About Thomas Aigner

Born in Steyr in 1984, Aigner earned his law degrees at the JKU, completing a doctorate degree in 2015 with a dissertation titled "Der Eigentumsvorbehalt". His dissertation was graded with a “1” and earned him the 2015 Wolf Theiss Award and the 2015 Award of the Association of Austrian Banks and Bankers. For several years he worked as a university assistant at the Institute for Multimedia Legal Studies in Linz and he also acquired legal experience as a research assistant at the Eferding law firm Hochleitner.
