Thomas Takacs (Institute of Applied Geometry) was presented with educational teaching qualifications for the subject area of mathematics for the topic "Isogeometrische Analysis, eine Kombination aus Numerik und Geometrie".

Takacs earned his undergraduate degree in Technical Mathematics at the JKU between 2005 and 2009, followed by a Master's degree in Industrial Mathematics, and then a doctorate at the JKU in 2013 with a dissertation titled "Regularity and Approximation Power of Isogeometric Discretizations for Parametrizations with Singularities". After spending time abroad at the University of Pavia (Italy), he returned to the JKU in 2016. He is currently managing an Austrian Science Fund project as well as a LIT project.

Thomas Takacs' career in mathematics was evident at an early age and as a student, he actively took part in the International Mathematical Olympiad twice. We wish Prof. Takacs continued success!
