Among the category of researchers under 40, Martin Halla (head of the JKU Department for Economic Policy) ranks at 38. In German-speaking countries he ranks at 21 and has the number 1 spot in Austria. In the overall ranking, Jochen Güntner and Matthias Fahn rank 110 and 130 respectively, and at spots 8 and 10 respectively in Austria.

Friedrich Schneider, professor emeritus at the institute, ranks 29th in lieu of his life's work. Taking researchers in German-speaking countries into account, he ranks at no. 18 and at no. 1 in Austria.
