Whether we notice it or not, artificial intelligence (AI) is already a part of our everyday lives. We interact with automated assistants, such as voice assistants, our car’s park assist feature, we use the facial recognition feature to unlock our smartphones, or we have music and movies suggested to us. AI is a very present part of our everyday lives, perhaps even more than we often realize or would even like to admit. As the number of AI applications will continue to grow in the future, when we create and use AI systems, we need to not only be aware of the opportunities, but also of the risks and challenges.
