The latest labor market statistics confirm that employers are finding it increasingly difficult to fill open positions in the “Information and Communications” sector. Throughout the year, the demand grows continually and is three times higher than the number of qualified applicants available. #IT_rocks is an initiative supported by Economics Minister Michael Strugl aimed at combatting the shortage and the JKU will be actively involved.

JKU Vice-Rector of Human Resources, Diversity, and IT, Mag. Brigitte Hütter, MSc., remarked, “Studying at the Johannes Kepler University rocks: cutting-edge curricula, outstanding faculty-student ratio, a unique campus environment. The JKU is – and always has been – a pioneer and source of inspiration in the IT sector. As Upper Austria’s largest institution of education and research, we have a special responsibility to support our region as a location of education as well as support jobs of tomorrow and the people who live here.”
