Employees at the JKU are encouraged to, if possible, use the train to take business trips. In addition more comfort, the train is a more pleasant travel experience. JKU employees helped to save over 26 tons of CO₂ last year; a small contribution to help save the environment which is more important than ever before as the average global temperatures are 1°C above pre-industrial levels. According to the Climate Protection report, 2014, 2015 and 2016 were the warmest years on record.
