Presented for the first time this year for outstanding achievement in studies and society, the Anton Zeilinger Achievement Award was presented personally to David Schmidtbauer at an awards ceremony held at the Upper Austrian Economic Chamber.

David Schmidtbauer’s graduate thesis titled "Characterization of the Long-Term Creep Behavior of Injection Mortar Systems" focuses on developing models to predict the life span of plastic-based cement systems in the construction industry.

Named after Anton Zeilinger, President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the award is intended to encourage and motivate students to strive for excellence in academia. Zeilinger believes the path to academic excellence consists of “90% hard work and 10% inspiration”.
