The "Upper Austrian Raiffeisenlandesbank Award" is presented by the Raiffeisenlandesbank in recognition of outstanding academic papers graded with a “1” during the current or previous semester, as well as papers published in academic/scientific journals in category A or B. 24 papers were submitted for the award and four were selected for an award.

Mag. Florian Mayer (Institute for Civil Law):

Mag. Mayer’s paper focuses valid information needed to calculate the total interest rate of a variable-rate loan if the EURIBOR as the reference interest rate falls to a negative value.

Manuel Kienbacher, MSc (Institute for Corporate Finance, Department of Asset Management):

In recent years, sustainable investments have experienced high growth rates. Manuel Kienbacher's graduate thesis examines the motives and behavior of sustainable investors, the differences to conventional investors and the potential of sustainable investments, particularly for clients in the private banking sector.

Dr. Thomas Brunner-Kirchmair (Institute for Finance, Department of Corporate Finance):

Mergers & acquisitions have significant importance for the economy and business. The award-winning paper by Thomas Brunner-Kirchmair looks at whether an acquiring company’s individual corporate governance is a relevant success factor or not.

Dr. Rainhard Dieter Findling, Msc Bsc (Institute of Networks and Security):

If a mobile device, such as a smartphone or laptop, falls into the wrong hands, strangers may be able access to personal information and can, for example, carry out financial transactions under a false name. Dr. Findling’s dissertation introduces three new approaches that, in combination, can save time and effectively ensure the protection of personal information on mobile devices.
