Univ. Prof. Michael Mayrhofer, University Senate Chairman, confirmed the votes. The committee made the independent decision, fulfilling its responsibility to the JKU. A shortened procedure to re-appoint Meinhard Lukas for another four-year period requires a two-thirds majority approval by both the University Council and the University Senate. Last week, the University Council expressed its support for Rector Lukas.
