Christopher Lindinger, JKU Vice-Rector for Innovation and Researchers, presented the academic certificate.

Born in Leoben in 1979, Jörg Fischer earned both a Diploma degree program and doctorate degree in polymer engineering at the University of Leoben, specializing in the material science aspects of polymer materials and materials testing. After completing his dissertation titled "Morphology of Polymer Materials - Analysis of Polyethylene Running Surfaces and Duromer Strip Coatings" in 2009, he then came to the Institute of Polymeric Materials and Testing at the JKU.

In addition to several extended stays at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA), since 2009 Fischer has also been jointly responsible for applying for cooperative large-scale research projects with an approved volume of approximately €25 million and was actively involved in creating and growing the "Polymer Engineering" program at the JKU Linz.

In 2020, Assoc.Prof. DI Dr.mont. Jörg Fischer earned his habilitation qualification at the JKU with his work titled "Service-Oriented Performance Characterization of Polymeric Materials under Mechanical and Environmental Loading Conditions". We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his achievements!
