The "Future Mobility Award" is not presented to companies or research institutions, but rather in recognition of outstanding undergraduate or graduate theses, or doctoral dissertations providing fresh, groundbreaking ‘food for thought’. Theresa Mühlberghuber's thesis on Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) was honored with a “Future Mobility Award”. Supervised by the Institute for Digital Business (dept head: Prof. Johann Höller), Mühlberghuber's thesis focuses on identifying the potential of MaaS in rural areas in an effort to support and promote sustainable mobility. Creating efficient approaches to support a faster expansion of MaaS in rural areas will not provide a greater variety of environmentally friendly mobile options, but also encourage social inclusion as well as increase the quality of life.
