Rabitsch Wins the 1st Leg of the 2018 Race Across Upper Austria

The first leg of the Race Across Upper Austria started at the JKU campus and was 12.6 kms uphill. Over 30 cyclists from the JKU took part.

Under the group name "JKU Gipfelstürmern", JKU students and employees were able to take part in the race and were also scored separately. Among the professional cyclists, Styrian Stephan Rabitsch won the stretch from the JKU Science Park to Pelmberg in 23:56 minutes and at an average speed of 30.8 km/h, beating his own record from last year.

JKU Vice-Rector Andreas Janko remarked, “It was a great sporting event and showed just how well the JKU campus is suited for events like this. A big thank you to everyone who made this exciting event possible!”
