The IRIS FISCHLMAYR Awards are presented in recognition of - and to help financially support - outstanding academic Master’s/Diploma degree theses as well as dissertations featuring aspects on diversity. The IRIS-FISCHLMAYR Scholarship is a dissertation grant to support young women academics in a field of engineering/natural sciences.

21 Master’s/Diploma degree theses were submitted for consideration this year and in lieu of the large number of submissions, on September 2, 2020, the jury decided to increase the original amount of the accompanying prize money and divide it among three selected winners. The prize money has been awarded to Sarah Widter, Fabian Wakolbinger, and Verena Sanglhuber.

Ruta Žeromskytė won the award in the dissertation category. The grant was awarded to Deena Awny. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the award winners!
