HeadStart@Informatics.

Together with the Austrian Research and Support Center for the Gifted and Talented (ÖZBF), the departments of Computer Science of the Johannes Kepler University Linz give students in the 7th class at AHS schools a unique opportunity to attend selected computer science courses at the JKU.

Benefit from a compact introduction to computer science methods, see if studies in computer science are for you, and earn university academic credit BEFORE graduation! This can give you a smooth transition to university studies and you could earn your degree even faster.
You can get academic credit for completed courses. The classes are independent from each other, but you should take all three if possible.

Application & Registration

You can enroll at the university during the general admission period at the JKU's Admissions Office. Please bring: A valid passport, a social insurance number, and the pre-registration number you received when you pre-registered (Step 2) online.

Important Information for Non-Degree Seeking Students

If you are enrolled as a non-degree seeking student, you will be subject to paying tuition fees in the amount of € 363.36 per semester (plus the Austrian Student Union fee). However, if you sign up to attend one or more of the overview lectures, you will be exempt from paying the tuition fee! Please note that tuition fee exemption will only be granted after you have been allocated to the courses and this may take some time. You will receive e-mail notification as to when you can pay the Austrian Student Union fee.
