Professor for Anesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care.

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time position under private law for a Professor for Anesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care  to begin immediately. The appointment is accordance with § 98 of the Austrian 2002 Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a five-year period.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach, conduct research and be involved in patient care in its full depth and breadth and continue to further develop the area. The professorship involves managing the University Clinic for Anesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care. The management position will be limited to a five-year period.

Applicants for the position must have a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate/habilitation qualifications) in the field above. See the job profile (German only) in the Info Box for a detailed description of the position.

The appointment commission also includes two Kepler University Hospital representatives who have an advisory role. As part of the appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications during an on-site visit of the workplace.

The prospective candidate will be offered a salary in accordance with the collective agreements of universities (pay grade A1).  Salary can be negotiated in lieu of additional qualifications and professional experience. Discussions regarding terms of service and salary law will be held with management at the Kepler University Hospital.
