Announcement of a Faculty opening for a Professor of Internal Medicine with a focus on Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Johannes Kepler University Linz
The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a part-time, private law employment position as a Professor for Internal Medicine with focus on Gastroenterology/Hepatology to begin immediately, whereby support will be provided for any additional medical-practice activities. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a five-year period.
The successful candidate will represent teaching, research and patient care in the professional field stated above in its full depth and breadth and will continue to further develop the area. The professorship is part of the management of the Department for Internal Medicine 2. The position is for an initial five-year period.

The appointment committee includes two representatives from the Kepler University Hospital Ltd., each of whom has an advisory role. As part of the appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications (particularly in regards to patient care skills) during an on-site visit of the workplace.

The annual gross salary as stated in the Collective Agreement for Universities (Job Grade A1) applies. Payment above the amount stated in the Collective Agreement can be negotiated individually in accordance with corresponding qualifications. Talks regarding the legal conditions pertaining to service and salary will be conducted with the management of the “Kepler Universitätsklinikum”.
