In accordance with § 99 Sec. 1 of the Austrian Universities Act, the Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz announces a temporary faculty opening for a Professor of Pathology.

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for two-year employment (full or part-time) position under private law for a Professor for Pathology to begin immediately. The successful candidate could extend the position past the two-year period by taking part in a faculty appointment procedure in accordance to § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act.

The successful candidate is expected to represent the subject area above in research and teaching in its entirety.

The position’s key responsibilities include developing and implementing courses in the academic degree program in Human Medicine, particularly in the field of pathology. Experience in coordinating and developing academic degree programs is thus highly desirable.

Further Information

The successful candidate is expected to hold the following qualifications:

  • Habilitation (venia docendi) or a comparable post-doctorate qualification in the field above
  • Willingness to further develop and implement the curriculum for the academic degree program in Human Medicine, particularly in the field of basic medicine
  • Expertise and willingness to supervise undergraduate and graduate theses
  • Experience in interdisciplinary work and international cooperation

An annual salary as stated in the collective agreement will be € 70,071.40. Any salary negotiation is subject to the Rector could be between € 90,000 and € 100,000 for the full-time position.
