Announcement of a faculty opening for a Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, Johannes Kepler University of Linz

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time employment position under private law for a Professor for Pharmacology to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a five-year period.

The successful candidate will represent teaching, research and medical education in the field of Pharmacology in its full depth and breadth and will continue to further develop the area. The professorship position includes serving as head of the Institute of Pharmacology.

Applicants for the position must have a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate qualifications) in the field above. See the link to the job profile under "key facts" for a detailed description of the position. The successful candidate’s research focus should complement research priorities at the existing faculty.

As part of the academic appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications during an on-site visit to the workplace.

The annual gross salary as stated in the Collective Agreement for Universities (Job Grade A1) applies.   Payment above the amount stated in the Collective Agreement can be negotiated individually in accordance with corresponding qualifications.
