Professor of Business Informatics – Information Engineering

to begin immediately. The professorship position ends on September 30, 2023. The successful candidate will temporarily replace the current chair during his leave of absence to assume responsibilities as a Vice-Rector.

The successful candidate will represent and further develop the academic area of “Business Informatics” with a research and educational focus on Information Engineering. He/she is expected to assume administrative tasks and duties and exercise independent administration at the university. The successful candidate should be willing to collaborate internally at the university with colleagues as well as outside of the university to establish professional connections. In addition to key professional qualifications, the successful candidate should also possess a strong social skill set.

The successful candidate should have research experience and accomplishments in

  • creating concepts and methods in the field of Information Management and Information Engineering,
  • designing, evaluating and optimizing Information Systems,
  • making technological impact assessments and/or
  • theoretical foundations in the academic area.

The successful candidate will represent these research fields as part of a concrete framework that includes research, teaching, continual education and externally funded research. He/she is expected to develop an independent research profile in coordination with the existing institutes in the academic area of Business Informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics & Business at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Several years of tertiary teaching experience, particularly in the fields of Information Management, IT project engineering & management, and in the area of corresponding in-depth courses as part of graduate-level degree programs, are advantageous.

The successful candidate should hold a doctorate and Habilitation (venia docendi) or a post-doctorate degree considered equivalent in qualification and scope in the academic area of business informatics or in a business or engineering field and in the research fields as listed above.

An annual gross salary above the amount of € 71,822.80 as stated in the collective agreement will be offered.
