Announcement by the Faculty of Medicine for a tenured faculty opening for a professor of Physiology in compliance with § 98 of the Universities Act at the Johannes Kepler University Linz

 

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time employment position under private law for a

Professor for Physiology

to begin immediately. The appointment procedure is in accordance with §98 of the 2002 Austrian Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a five-year period.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to professionally represent research at an internationally reputable level as well as teach and hold advanced medical training classes in its full depth and breadth and continue to further develop the area. The professorship involves managing the newly established Institute for Physiology.

 

General Information

Applicants for the position must have a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate/habilitation qualifications) in the field above. As part of the appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications during an on-site visit of the workplace.

The prospective candidate will be offered a salary in accordance with the collective agreements of universities (pay grade A1).  Salary can be negotiated in lieu of additional qualifications and professional experience.
